Last meeting in Mityana

Now we have again shifted territory here in Uganda. We had our last meeting in Mityana this morning and had a wonderful time with our friends there. Today I took the basis of 1.Kor.3: 11-15 of the judgment of the believer’s works. It’s really the motivation that drives us to the works we do. It was very well received on this subject and many positive statements about the preaching. We had a great time here in and around Mityana, so the desire that they wanted to get us back is as great here as the other places we have been.

I heard a story from the place we were on Friday. It was about the pastor at that location. He is a very keen and God loving soul. But such people is often meeting strong resistance. One of the leading Christians in another assembly had strongly opposed our Pastor and called him heretic. He had also brought his kids while the pastor was out, and shut them inside their home, and set fire to all their house. It’s just a mud hut with a straw roof. The children, however, had managed to get out of the house through a rear window and saved in this way their lives.

It was fully uproar in the village, but the man would not admit that he had done this. Then the minister prayed to the Lord and received a prophecy that the matter would be resolved and that the truth would come to light. After a little while this neighbor came crawling and confessed his guilt. The village wanted the pastor to give him a fit punishment through the authorities, but he felt that the confession was punishment enough.

The pastor’s forgiveness made a big impression on the people and now he has become a recognized person in the village. The house burned to the ground, but is now rebuilt. It is still a mud hut with a straw roof, but God has blessed brother with great good will in the community. So there is no one who abuses him for heresy anymore. The forgiving spirit have great power, and a big impact.

Today Bro. Bolahs and his family came and brought us from Mityana. So now we have arrived at our new home in a guesthouse here in Kampala, not far from the premises were the Church are located. All is well with us. We have had some introduction to the coming days of activities, so it is no slouch here either.

We have now arranged for the flight to Durban, and we aim to be in Tongat Tuesday, September 30 in the afternoon. God bless you all.
