An Eventful Day

Thursday was an eventful day in many ways. Our friends have made contact with a group of congregations, a believing group called United Pentecost. They have Bible schools and churches around in this district. Yesterday we were in one of these churches. They had a female pastor. She stopped at our guesthouse on Wednesday after we had arrived from Davao. She is a positive soul. I remember from my time in the Pentecostal church in Norway, they had also female pastors.

We arrived at the meeting yesterday afternoon and I felt that I should preach on why it had to be the blood. In the word of God it states clearly in Hebrew 9:22, that without shedding of blood there is no remission. So I took the text from Exodus.12, where Moses was told by the Lord that the house of Israel had to smear lamb’s blood on the doorposts and the lintel at the entrance of their homes. If He saw the blood He would spare their lives. So the question then became, why was there a need of blood to be spared?

Then we took the beginning in the Garden of Eden and explained how the blood got into the concept of sin

Then we took the beginning in the Garden of Eden and explained how the blood got into the concept of sin. It was a subject and exposition that our friends had never before heard of. The reaction was evident and very positive. The female teacher testified afterwards about how she could now understand about the real fall in the garden of Eden. She talked about how the old understanding (with an apple) had made her fearful, and that she in her childhood had been afraid to eat apples because they could make her unclean. Well, at least we can safely eat apples from now on.

There is also a Bible school here in this district it looks like we’re going there tomorrow. We might get an opportunity  to preach to about 200 students. They mentioned they would certainly want to hear a better exposition of the book of Revelation. They haven’t had any real teachings on this book. Well, the challenges are many, and our territory is expanding constantly. It will be interesting to see the continuation. Today there is a new trip back to the place where we took the topic on why the blood was needed. The enthusiasm was evident and very positive, so the expectations of our meeting is probably the same today.

Remember us in your prayers. All is well with us.
