The trip to Davao, April 2009 PDF Print E-mail

ImageToday was a little special day. We started from the hotel in Manila, thinking that our trip was well organized, and ready to go. It showed that our Internet checking had not gone through, and was not paid for. When we arrived; by the Grace of God, we made it pretty early to the airport to day. But then we had to stand in line at the Ticket office for more than an hour to get our new tickets. We made it just in time for departure. Well up in the air, after a half an hour trip; towards Davao, the Capitan came on the speaker system telling us we had to go back to Manila, because of a technical failure. So that gave us an hour in the air and then we had to go back to where we started.

We knew that would probably delay our chances to have Church in Davao to night. But there is a reason for everything. When we landed, we went over to a cafeteria to have some coffee. To men were sitting there talking together. We just sat down and greeted them, and through the conversation we found out they were Korean missionaries. We told them we were missionaries too, and then our conversation was an never ending one. They were pentecostal Assemblies of God, and they started telling about their School projects and all the fund making programs; that they were trying to get to work out, here in the Philippines.

Then they asked me about the programs I were conducting here in this country, and how I was funding them. Well I honestly told them, I did not run a monetary program, but rather on a calling inside through experiences in life, and how the Lord through inspiration has led my life over the years. That touched the brothers in such a way that they kept asking about how the Lord was working in my life. I felt there was a vacancy in their lives, since they had been so occupied with these Church programs. They had lost track of how to touch the inner man in the ones they were to reach.

I testified on how important it is to reach out to the least, yea even to the youngest child. Not only to the poor in material things, but to the poor in Spirit. If you can reach a child, then you would not have too difficult a time to reach an adult. I told a few stories about how the Lord had led me even in encouraging children, and how important it is to recognize even their spiritual desires.

They were touched by the things I told to the extent that they started inviting me to their Church to minister the word of God. At that time bro. Elevera came looking for us, and joined inn on our conversation. It wasn't long till we were all involved in a wonderful time of fellowship, and we were extending addresses for possible connections in the future. I an blitz our time was out, waiting on the changing of the airplane. Two hours had gone like a few seconds. We all just had to agree on one thing, the Lord for some reason led us back to Manila because of a technical failure, and gave us a most wonderful experience with two Pentecostal ministers who really wanted more out of their spiritual life than programs and projects could ever produce.

I thank the Lord for the many experiences in life, worth telling about. May be some striving honest Christian believer can wake up to the fact that God is real to day, and are willing to open up to any hungry soul and give them a new start in their lives. May be they have tried so hard to please a system, and have now come to an end, not knowing what to do to be able to please God anymore. I will praise him for his goodness all my days. He is surly the highlight of my life. Oh, how long to express it in it's fullness.

God bless you all.
