Now we have been in the prison in San Fernando, and we had a productive time with our jail birds. It was again a rewarding time while we got a chanse leave a challenging thought to the believers. Bro. Elevera asked me after the service: “Why I did not preached this topic during the convention.” It was an educational and spiritual challenge in how to catch (human) fish. Not just a mayfly, who gives up after a few spiritual battles, but rather an experiance that will remain for a lifetime.
I took Peter’s life from the time he first saw Jesus, and till he laid there before His feet; and besought Him to go away from him because he was a sinful man. The Lord does this; as He calls his servant before Him, until there are no more escape routes to find. Then He shows him the way to go. That’s how He did it with Moses, and in the same way He catches us also into the same type of net.
What is this net? It is a simple conviction that forms in our hearts; that only God can do these things. It is not human manipulation. When we finally are trapped in this way, there is no road of escape. When he calls us, we have no escape routes to relate to. There is just one road to go, and that is to fulfill God’s perfect plan.
In a prison they are aware that they are caught, but who realizes that they have been captured by the love of God?
In a prison they are aware that they are caught, but who realizes that they have been captured by the love of God? Paul said it in this way, “the love of Christ compels me.” How did the Gospel hit us? Is there only one fluffy desire in us at times, or are we really caught by God’s power and love? The next challenge will tell us whom we really are, and wether we are persistent enough to press on to the end. Will He finally say to us: “Well done you faithful servant. You were faithful in little, I will set you over much.” Let us gladly complete our work in the Lord. God bless you all.
