We’re back in Angeles after an eventful and enjoyable trip north-west of Angeles, about a three hours journey . The City is called Alaminos, a tourist town with views to a hundred small islands that are situated exceptionally close together off this coast. We were not there to behold these things but met a new church that had connections to a group of friends that we met for the first time last year. They’re not far from Marikina in Manila. We got there on Saturday afternoon and had a rewarding eveningwith our new friends.

I took a review of certain experiences I have had, associating these with the expectation we should have for what lies ahead. If we have experienced things before there must be an expectation in us to what the Lord has for us in the future. There were many testimonies from other friends also that evening, so it was quite late before the meeting was over. Here in the Philippines the Sunday morning meetings start around 8:30 am. It heats up quickly in the summer and it gets 40+ centigrades, so that’s one of the reasons our friends start the meetings early. They had no air-conditioning, so it was helpful to sit under fans to cool off a bit.
At this meeting I basically took the topic «This generation», how the plan the Lord reveals to us not necessarily should be calculated in days and years according to our thinking, but rather in sequences or chapters. It goes from a beginning of an event to a fulfillment. The Lord holds the keys to time. We tend to put up our own timeframe and then subsequently accuse God of not fulfilling our expectations.

After the meeting was finshed we saw that we could reach the evening service in Angeles, so we jumped in the car and flew swiftly to the next task. That night it was my turn again. I had a piece left of the puzzle from the topic I preached on in the Easter meetings. Therefore I completed the picture in this service. After preaching our believing friends came over and mentioned that the topic was now completed. They had been waiting for this part. So there are some friends who are awake and watching what is preached. The thing is that we really never become completely finished with a topic. There are always aspects which can be supplemented some more.
Today there is a small graduation party at the Elevera residence. Judah Ben has now gotten his approval as an aircraft technician. Joshua had his birthday a couple of days ago, so we were invited to celebrate with them before we start our next journey on Wednesday. Our next round will be to the northern «tribes» in Ifugao, Lagawe, Sagada, Bontoc, Baguio, Trinidad and others. It is a trip that is going to last until we leave the Philippines on May 22nd. The meetings we hold here in Angeles are recorded by the church here and posted online, so they can be heard immediately. I also have my MP3 player with me and record most of the meetings along the way. Then we can coordinate them when I get home.

Everything is still well with us and we are grateful to the Lord for good health and a rewarding time with our friends.
