Exciting Service In San Fernando prison

Our first meeting is over here in Angeles, or rather in the prison of San Fernando. It was a captivating encounter, with a very so eager and inquisitive group of people. Bro. Elevera has laid a great foundation for further teaching of the Word of God. Approximately 250 souls has given their hearts to the Lord. 230 was baptized a few weeks ago, and now we had a wonderful time; where many listened and followed attentive to the ministering of the Gospel. Bro. Elevera was my interpreter this time. He wanted the Assembly to get all the details in both English and Tagalog, which is the main language in this part of the Philippines. There were prisoners there from every corner of the country, and also a prisoner from the United States, who later greeted us. He would be set free now on May 11.

I led the preaching part now as before, into the experiences with the Lord, and not only mine, but experiences in general as one reads in the Bible. The point is to get the believer to put their trust in the spiritual experiences that the individual may have in the Lord. If they are able to do so, they are not too easily led away from their first reasons; and the experiences they may have had through salvation. We got Moses, who met the Lord at the burning bush, and many other powerful testimony of God’s Word. If we, like him can put trust in our experiences with God, then we are not so easily tilted by opinions around us. The evil on has many trick approaches to come by; to doubt your experiences with God. For me, these experiences stabilized me journey, when others have come with their attacks. I have been able to rest in the experiences the Lord has given me; and said like Jesus and Stephen. “Father forgive them, they know not what they do.”

Finally, we invited everyone to come for prayer; to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I knew that they had both repented and been baptized in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. I did not know what the reaction would be, but all that was at the meeting stood up and came forward and wanted be filled with the spirit. I explained what I meant; by receiving the Holy Ghost, and it did not seem that anyone changed their mind, or looked confused about it. All stood there and they accepted it as it is written in God’s word. It was a willing and trusting flock.

After the service many of them came over and thanked us for the preaching. It was a grateful congregation to preach to. We are not the only ones who comes holding meetings there, but this was a very special moment. Maybe they do not hear preaching in this manner. Well we will put that in the Lord’s hands. We were specifically asked to come back again if we could. So we will bring that into the further planning. Anyway, there were many prisoners who found freedom in the spirit, though they still can not enjoy their days outside the prison doors yet. Thank God for such an opportunity to bring the word of life to the thirsty and hungry souls. God bless you all.
